The Supreme Court will hear on March 13 the petitions seeking legal recognition of gay marriage. In this case, the Central Government has opposed all the 15 petitions by filing an affidavit. Center said same-sex marriage cannot be approved. This is against the concept of Indian family. The family concept consists of husband and wife and the child born to them.In the last hearing, the court had transferred the petitions filed by Delhi High Court, Kerala High Court and Gujarat High Court seeking legal recognition of same-sex marriages to the Supreme Court.

* Supreme Court to hear on March 13 the bail plea filed by TMC leader Saket Gokhale, arrested for misusing crowd funding. The Gujarat High Court refused to grant bail to Gokhale. Trinamool Congress spokesperson Saket Gokhale has been arrested in a case related to alleged misappropriation of funds collected through crowdfunding.

** Supreme Court to hear on March 13 a case related to Assam Independent MLA Akhil Gogoi’s suspected Maoist links. Akhil Gogoi has challenged the February 9 order of the Gauhati High Court in the Supreme Court. The High Court had allowed the special NIA court in Assam to proceed with framing of charges in a case against Gogoi.

The Supreme Court will hear on March 13 the petition filed by Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind challenging the Uttarakhand High Court’s decision regarding fatwa. It has been said in the petition that the decision of the Uttarakhand High Court is contrary to Section 141 of the Constitution. National President of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind Maulana Mahmood Madani has said in an appeal filed in the Supreme Court that this decision of the Uttarakhand High Court is contrary to Article 26 of the Indian Constitution and the decision of the Supreme Court in Vishwalochan Madan case vs. Government of India.

Supreme Court to hear tomorrow PIL filed by Christian organisations…. The petition alleges that attacks on Christian priests and churches have increased in the country. The petition was filed by National Solidarity Forum, Evangelical Fellowship of India and Archbishop Peter Machado of Bangalore Diocese.
