Conman Sukesh Claims Bias, Seeks His Case Transferred To Another Judge

Sukesh Chandrashekhar, the alleged conman, has recently moved before a Delhi court, accusing the judge hearing his extortion case of bias and seeking its transfer to another judge.

Sukesh’s lawyer, Anant Malik, appeared before District and Sessions Judge Dharmesh Sharma in the hearing on Monday.

“Since the applicant/accused has alleged bias against the Presiding Officer/ASJ, let a copy of the present transfer petition be sent to him elucidating his comments on the same, which may be placed before this court for further consideration on April 17, 2023,” the judge stated.

The Principal District and Sessions Judge ordered the jail officials to present the accused via video conference on the next scheduled hearing date.

Sukesh Chandrashekhar claimed that the reliefs given to the other defendants in the case have not been extended to him and his wife. The court has issued a notice on Sukesh’s plea.

Sukesh further claimed that when one of the applications filed by his wife, who is also an accused in the case, was heard, the lawyers were asked to leave the court and the Judge made inappropriate remarks about Sukesh to his wife.

The case is currently being heard by Additional Sessions Judge Shailender Malik.

Chandrashekhar is accused of defrauding and extorting Aditi Singh, the wife of Shivinder Mohan Singh, a former promoter of Religare Enterprises who was arrested in October 2019 in connection with an alleged mismanagement of funds at Religare Finvest Ltd. The Delhi Police detained both Chandrashekar and his actor wife Leena Maria Paul in September last year for their alleged involvement in the case.
