Roopesh Chandra Varshney, Anuradha Shukla, Sanjeev Sudhakar Kalgaonkar, Prem Narayan Singh, Achal Kumar Paliwal, Hirdesh, and Avnindra Kumar Singh are the seven names suggested.

On November 23, 2022, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh recommended the elevation of the seven judicial officers listed above as Judges of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh after conjunction with his two senior-most colleagues.

The recommendations were also supported by Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister and Governor.

The Collegium then consulted the Apex Court judges who were familiar with the operations of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

In accordance with the same, the collegium decided to recommend all the seven candidates.

As of April 1, the Madhya Pradesh High Court, which has a sanctioned strength of 53 judges, was operating with 31 judges and 22 vacancies.
