Nagpur Court Denies Transfer Of Nitin Gadkari Threat Case To Mumbai

The Nagpur court has recently dismissed the NIA application seeking transfer proceeding of the case related to threat calls to the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to Mumbai court.

Previously, the NIA has filed two First Information Reports in Mumbai based on FIRs registered by the Dhantoli police in Nagpur under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Subsequently, the NIA sought the transfer of the UAPA cases to a Mumbai court.

The Nagpur police provided a “No Objection” statement to the NIA’s request on Friday, but the court declined to relocate the proceedings to Mumbai.

Gadkari’s office here had two threat calls in January 2023.

The Nagpur police have arrested Afsar Pasha, a convict in the Bengaluru terror attack case, and Jayesh Pujari alias Kantha in connection with the case. It is suspected that Kantha made the threat calls in collaboration with Pasha.
