Delhi Court Orders Release Of BJP Leader Kuldeep Bishnoi’s Family Company’s Rent Deposit

POCSO

A Delhi court has recently ordered the release of Rs 1.87 crore rent deposited by a family-owned company of BJP leader and former Haryana MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi for a farmhouse in Rajokri to its owner.

The property’s owner, represented by Nimitya Properties Ltd, asserted that the lease agreement was limited to a span of two years starting from May 2013.

However, the accused company, Seth Enterprises Pvt Ltd, continued to occupy the property beyond the stipulated lease period, from May 2015 onwards, without making any rental payments. Their occupation was challenged in court, and in 2020, the court ordered them to vacate the premises.

On September 3, 2020, the court mandated that the accused company evacuate the farmhouse and return possession to its rightful owner.

Subsequently, in October 2022, the court ordered the accused firm to deposit Rs 3.75 crore with the court.

Challenging the trial court’s decision, the accused company appealed to the Delhi High Court. The High Court ruled that the company should deposit half of the previously mandated amount with the civil court.

In an order dated August 7, Additional District Judge Satyabrata Panda declared, “It is directed that the amounts deposited by the defendant (Seth Enterprises Pvt Ltd) with the court be released to the plaintiff (Nimitya Properties Ltd).”

The petitioner, represented by advocate Sumit Gehlot, contended that Kuldeep Bishnoi ceased making payments after April 14, 2015, causing financial distress to the property owner due to the actions of the defendants.
