Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Friday that three new Bills, intended to replace the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and the Indian Evidence Act, will be soon passed by Parliament.

Addressing the Passing Out parade of IPS cadets at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Shah emphasized that India is moving away from laws established during the British colonial era, ushering in a new era characterized by renewed confidence and optimism.

Shah disclosed that the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs is currently reviewing these three new bills, with their passage expected in the near future. He underscored that these new laws are designed to safeguard the rights of the people.

Highlighting the increasing number of women IPS cadets, Shah commended the progress in women-led development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
