The Delhi High Court on Monday reserved its order on a plea by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) seeking the allocation of space for its offices by the Centre, citing its recognition as a national party.
With the current party office in Rouse Avenue slated for vacation by June 15, AAP’s senior counsel argued for a temporary allocation of a unit on Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Marg.
The court mentioned it intends to issue an order on the matter of temporary space allocation on June 5, 2024.
“I will attempt to announce it during the vacations. Most likely on the 5th (of June),” stated Justice Subramonium Prasad.
The Aam Aadmi Party had approached the court last year through two separate petitions, seeking either a piece of land in the national capital for constructing its offices or the allotment of a housing unit on a license basis for the interim period, considering its status as a recognized national party.
