Swati Maliwal Case: Delhi Court Extends Judicial Custody of Bibhav Kumar till July 6

Kumar stands accused of assaulting AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal on May 13 at the chief minister’s official residence.

Appearing via video conferencing, Kumar was presented before Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Goyal, who extended his judicial custody until July 6.

Bibhav Kumar was taken into custody on May 18. The same day, a magisterial court granted police custody for five days, noting that his anticipatory bail plea had become irrelevant due to his arrest.

Subsequently, on May 24, he was transferred to judicial custody for four days, after which he was again remanded in police custody for three days.

On May 16, an FIR was filed against Kumar under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including those pertaining to criminal intimidation, assault or criminal force on a woman with the intent to disrobe, and attempt to commit culpable homicide.
