Blocking Goa Minister’s Car: Court Grants Bail to Actor Gaurav Bakshi

Actor Gaurav Bakshi

A court in Panaji (Goa) has granted conditional bail to actor Gaurav Bakshi, who was arrested for allegedly restraining a state minister by blocking his car.

The Judicial Magistrate First Class, Mapusa, set bail at Rs 15,000 with a surety of the same amount, according to the actor’s lawyer.

Bakshi is required to appear at the Colvale police station for the next eight days.

Additionally, the court has prohibited him from visiting the Revora panchayat in the North Goa district, where the alleged incident occurred. The police had requested the court to allow the seizure of Bakshi’s car, but the judge rejected this plea.

On July 11 (Thursday), a complaint was filed against Bakshi by State Animal Husbandry Minister Nilkant Halarnkar’s personal assistant. The complaint alleges that Bakshi blocked the minister’s car outside the Revora panchayat the previous day and refused to move his vehicle when requested.

In response, Bakshi filed a counter-complaint, claiming that it was the minister’s vehicle that had blocked his way. On Thursday, the actor was arrested for allegedly restraining a public servant from performing his duty.
