An SC/ST court in Kota (Rajasthan) has sentenced two men to 20 years in prison for the abduction and rape of a Dalit woman that took place eight years ago.
The convicts, Pappu Lashkar (52) and Pappu Odd (39), both residents of the Kaithun area, abducted the woman on May 4, 2016, while she was outside her house with her 18-month-old son, according to Special Public Prosecutor Hitesh Jain.
They held her captive in a house where they repeatedly raped her, threatening to kill her son if she resisted.
Despite the ordeal, the woman managed to escape after two days. A case was registered on May 16, 2016, and a charge sheet was subsequently filed. During the trial, statements from 13 witnesses were recorded, and 21 documents were presented as evidence.
