Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday has expressed his readiness to confront the investigation related to the site allotment issue.
However, he plans to consult legal experts to determine the legality of such a probe following a High Court ruling that dismissed his petition challenging Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot’s order for the investigation.
Siddaramaiah stated, “I will not hesitate from facing investigation. I will consult experts to understand whether such a probe is permissible under the law.” He emphasized his faith in the legal system, asserting that “truth will prevail” in this matter.
The Chief Minister attributed the ongoing challenges to what he described as “revenge politics” from the BJP-led NDA and its ally, the JD(S). He stated, “Our judicial struggle against this will continue. I have faith in the judiciary.”
The High Court’s ruling marks a significant setback for Siddaramaiah, who had sought to contest the Governor’s approval for the investigation into alleged irregularities involving the allotment of 14 sites to his wife by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority in a prime area.
