The Supreme Court has extended the anticipatory bail of Malayalam actor Siddique for two more weeks in connection with a rape case.
A bench comprising Justices Bela M. Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma questioned the delay in filing the complaint against the 61-year-old actor, emphasizing the need for clarity in the proceedings.
Siddique requested additional time to respond to a status report submitted by the Kerala Police, which has opposed the anticipatory bail. The police’s report highlights concerns about Siddique’s willingness to cooperate with the ongoing investigation by the Special Investigation Team.
