Today once again the eyes of the whole country will be focused on the Supreme Court. On the one hand, debate on CAA can be seen in the Supreme Court, on the other hand arguments and debates on Jallikattu and demonetization will also be seen. What else will be happened in the courts of the country today, let’s see ‘court at a glance’…

*The constitution bench of supreme court will hear on December 5 the pleas challenging the center’s decision to demonetize currency note of Rs 500, and 1000 in 2016.

A five-judge Constitution bench headed by Justice S A Nazeer is hearing a batch of 58 petitions challenging the demonetization exercise.

*The Supreme Court will hear on December 6 the bail pleas of Christian Michel James, the alleged middleman in the AgustaWestland chopper scam in which the CBI and Enforcement Directorate have lodged two separate cases..

*The supreme Court to hear a batch of more than 200 petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 brought in the by the government three years ago which seeks to grant citizenship to non-Muslim migrants who came here from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan on or before December 31, 2014.

*The Supreme Court will hear on a petition seeking a ban on contesting elections for life for those convicted in criminal cases. 

*The Supreme Court will a batch of petitions filed by Association for Democratic Reforms, Communist Party of India (Marxist) etc, challenging the electoral bonds scheme.

*The supreme court will hear Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s father plea challenging various orders, including the transit remand order of a Delhi court, in the murder case of singer Sidhu Moosewala and also complained that lawyers in Punjab had boycotted his son and were not willing to represent him.

*The Supreme court will hear a batch of petitions challenging the constitutional validity of laws permitting Jalikattu, Kambala and bull-cart race in states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra.
