Important Matters listed before courts on December 7

  • The Supreme Court to continue hearing on the batch of pleas that had argued that exclusion of Christian and Muslim Dalits from the list of Scheduled Caste was discriminatory. Currently only Dalits of Hindus, Sikh and Buddhist faith can be categorized as SCs.
  • The Supreme Court to hear batch of petitions challenging the Centre’s decision to demonetize currency notes of Rs 500 & Rs 1000. The Construction Bench comprises Justices S Abdul Nazeer, BR Gavai, AS Bopanna, V Ramasubramanian and BV Nagarathna.
  • The Supreme Court to hear a batch of petitions seeking to strike down a Tamil Nadu law which protects Jallikattu by claiming that the bull-taming sport is a cultural heritage of the State and is protected under Article 29 (1) of the Constitution.
  • The Delhi high Court to hear TMC leader Anubrata Mondal plea challenging ED plea seeking his production in Delhi in cattle muggling money laundering case.. He is presently in Asansol Jail in CBI case.
  • ED to produce businessman Amit Arora Before Rouse avenue court at the end of his remand period. Arors is director of Buddy Retail Pvt Limited recently has been arrested in connection with a money laundering probe in the excise policy probe.
