Jannayak Janata Party leader Digvijay Singh Chautala received a threatening video clip allegedly showing an unidentified person firing a gun at a statue of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
The video was reportedly sent to Chautala’s phone from an international number on Tuesday evening, accompanied by a chilling message warning that Moosewala’s sympathisers would be targeted next.
FIR Registered In Dabwali, Investigation Underway
A case has been registered in Dabwali, Sirsa district, where Chautala had installed the statue of Sidhu Moosewala last year.
Speaking To the media, Dabwali (City) Police Station SHO Anil Kumar said, “We have launched investigations… It is not clear which statue is being shown in the video clip. Investigations are on.”
Authorities are working to verify the location and authenticity of the clip and to trace its origin.
This is the second threat targeting the Chautala family in recent weeks. About two weeks ago, INLD chief Abhay Singh Chautala, Digvijay’s uncle, was threatened via a voice message sent to his son, Karan Chautala.
The audio message warned them to “stay out of the way” or face dire consequences. The matter is under investigation following a complaint lodged with Chandigarh police.
Moosewala’s Murder & Aftermath
Sidhu Moosewala, whose real name was Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, was gunned down in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29, 2022. His death shocked the nation and triggered an outpouring of grief from fans across the globe.
Moosewala’s legacy continues to draw attention, and authorities are treating any threats referencing him or his supporters with heightened sensitivity.
