Calcutta High Court stays proceedings in 26 criminal cases against BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari
The Calcutta High Court on Thursday ordered an interim stay on police proceedings in 26 cases filed against Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari.
During the argument Suvendu Adhikari’s advocate said that the ruling party had registered all the cases to harass him (Adhikari).
Opposing the plea filed by Adhikari, the State (Government) said that he is not cooperating in the investigation of the cases and has not appeared before the concerned investigating officers despite notices.
The Calcutta High Court was hearing a petition by Suvendu Adhikari seeking to quash 26 cases filed against him.
