The Rouse Avenue Court on Friday granted more time to CBI to file supplementary charge sheet in the case of Congress leader Jagdish Tytler, accused in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in Delhi’s Pul Bangash.
While hearing the CBI has told the court that it is further strengthening the investigation done earlier in the case and some witnesses are yet to be examined in the matter.
The next hearing of the matter will be held on March 2, 2023 in Rouse Avenue Court.
A case was registered against Tytler in the matter in 2005 on the recommendation of the Nanavati Commission of Inquiry. Riot victim Lokender Kaur filed a review petition in the sessions court against the CBI’s clean chit to Tytler. Lokender Kaur is the wife of Badal Singh who was killed in the riots. Tytler is accused of inciting a riot in Pul Bangash area and killing three Sikhs, including Badal.
