Delhi’s Patiala House Court refuses to allow actress Jacqueline Fernandez to go abroad after that jacqueline withdrew her petition.
During the hearing earlier today, the actress’s counsel informed the court that her mother had suffered a stroke in December 2021 and is ‘very ill’.
The court asked how the actress managed to get a visa, to which, Jacqueline Fernandez’s lawyer said that her parents live there and she had a visa already. However, the court objected to her plea and reasoned that the hearing is on serious stage.
“I know this is an emotional issue but this case is at a crucial stage,” the court said.
The actress’s lawyer attempted to get permission to travel abroad by mentioning that the next date of hearing is January 6 and Jacqueline Fernandez would return by January 5.
“You’ve tried to approach government agencies including the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to get permission to travel. It seems like you wanted to get a cooling effect. Under what process did you approach the ED for travel permission?” the court asked.
The counsel appearing for ED also opposed Jacqueline’s plea to travel out of the country and hinted possible hindrance in retrieving her to India. ED mentioned that the actress is a foreign national too. she was born to a multiracial family of Sri Lanka. She has Malaysian and Canadian descent.
The actress pleaded with the court to grant her permission to visit her parents, however, the court said, “I’m leaving it to you. If you want to withdraw the application or you want a judicial order.”
