Anubrat Mondal

The Rouse Avenue Court on Monday allowed the application of ED seeking transit remand of Anubrata Mandal for interrogation in connection with the multi-crore cattle smuggling case in West Bengal.

ED has got permission to interrogate Anubrata Mandal by bringing him to Asansol Jail to Delhi on transit remand.

Earlier ED in connection with cattle smuggling worth crores of rupees in West Bengal Wanted to interrogate Anubrata by bringing him to Delhi on transit remand for questioning, which was opposed by Anubrata in the court.

The ED on December 2 attached 32 properties worth Rs 1.58 crore belonging to prime accused Anubrata Mandal’s former bodyguard Sehgal Hussain and his relative in a cattle smuggling case.

After TMC leader Anubrata Mondal was arrested by the CBI in August, the probe agency was trying to trace the money involved in the cattle smuggling case. After investigation, the agency claimed that huge amounts of money were being collected from cattle traders in the name of “protection money” and then given to some confidants of Mandal.
