Lakhimpur Kheri case: Court frames charges against Ashish Mishra & 13 others

The additional district judge of Lakhimpur Kheri Sunil Kumar Verma frames charges against Ashish Mishra ‘Monu’, son of MOS (Home) Ajay Mishra Teni and 13 others in connection with the October 2021 violence in Lakhimpur Kheri’s Tikunia in which four farmers were killed.

Trial Court Frams CHARGES against Ashish Mishra ‘Monu’, son of MOS (Home) Ajay Mishra Teni under Section 302 (Murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 147 (rioting), etc.

District government counsel (Criminal) Arvind Tripathi told media that the court of additional district judge Sunil Kumar Verma had fixed December 16 as the next date of hearing. 

Mishra, son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra, is the main accused in the incident wherein a vehicle belonging to the Union minister allegedly mowed down four farmers during a protest against the now-repealed agricultural laws. Two BJP workers and a driver were beaten to death, while a local journalist was killed in the violence that ensued.
