A special CBI court has framed charges against Atique Ahmed and his son Umar in the case of kidnapping of Lucknow based businessman Mohit Jaiswal and taking him to Deoria and demanding extortion. Now the trial will start on both of them from the next date. Special CBI Judge Ajay Vikram Singh framed Charges on Atique Ahmed and his son Umar under sections 364A, 147, 149, 329, 386, 120b, 420/120A, 467, 468, 471, 394/149, 323, 504 and 506 of IPC.
In fact, on December 28, 2018, Mohit Jaiswal, a businessman from Lucknow, lodged an FIR at the Krishna Nagar police station that Atiq Ahmed, lodged in Deoria Jail, had kidnapped him from his office in Gomti Nagar through his henchmen. After this, Atique thrashed him in the jail and asked him to sign on plain paper. On refusing, Atique, his sons Umar and Gufran, Farooq, Ghulam and Irfan beat him with pistol-rods and straps. After this, by forcibly getting signatures on the stamp paper, the property worth 45 crores was got in his name.
A total of 101 cases were registered against Atique. Presently 50 cases are pending in various courts, in which there are more than one and a half dozen cases of NSA, Gangster and Gunda Act. The first case against him was registered in 1979. Atiq Ahmed has been an MLA five times and an MP once.
