Batla House encounter: Delhi HC Directs, Convict To be Transferred from GTB to Safdarjung

The Delhi High court on Monday while hearing an application filed by Shahzad Ahmed, directed the authorities to transfer him from GTB hospital to Safdarjung hospital. Shahzad Ahmed is a convict of the Batla House encounter case.

Shahzad Ahmed’s advocate Aman Naqv told the Delhi high court that he(Shahzad) was admitted to the hospital 18 days back with a complaint of abdomen pain. His condition was deteriorating. He was on a ventilator for two days, the advocate said

There is no specialized endocrinology department in the GTB hospital and Necessary nutrition is also not being provided to the applicant. His family members are not allowed to meet him, he added
Shahzad Ahmed is a convict in the Batla House Encounter case. He was awarded life imprisonment by the trial court. He has challenged trail court verdict before The Delhi high court. His appeal against the conviction is still pending before the High court.
