In a suo moto contempt case, the Delhi High Court on Monday issued show-cause notice to an Advocate.
Justices Sidharth Mridul and Talwant Singh, sitting as a division bench, sent attorney Shakti Chand Rana a notice to respond as to why contempt action should not be taken against him.
The judge ordered the attorney to file a reply in four weeks. He has been directed to show up in person for the upcoming hearing on January 30, 2023.
The bench has instructed the registry to use all available methods to serve the notification. The judge further directed the concerned SHO to carry out the dasti order at the premises.
After taking note of the Chief Justice’s instruction, the bench started the process.
Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora referred this case to the Chief Justice’s bench in an order dated December 14, 2022.
