Delhi HC Allows Actor Rajpal Yadav To Travel To Dubai For Diwali Event

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday permitted actor Rajpal Yadav to travel to Dubai to attend a Diwali celebration event, despite an ongoing cheque bounce case against him.

Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma granted the permission after directing Yadav to deposit a Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR) of ₹1 lakh with the court registry as security. Additionally, the actor was instructed to provide his mobile number and email address, which must remain active during his stay in Dubai from October 17 to 20.

The court also ruled that Yadav’s wife’s passport should remain deposited with the trial court as further security, while Yadav must re-deposit his own passport upon his return to India.

Yadav sought permission to attend the Bihar Connect Global event as a guest of honour during the Diwali festivities. The court noted that the complainant company, Murli Projects Pvt. Ltd., through its counsel, did not oppose the actor’s travel request.

Yadav’s lawyer informed the court that the trip was by official invitation and assured full compliance with all court directions.

Case Background

This is not the first time the court has allowed Yadav to travel abroad amid this case. In June 2025, the Delhi High Court permitted him to visit Melbourne, Australia for promotional events of his film Mera Kale Rang Da Yaar, subject to similar conditions.

At that time, the court temporarily suspended Yadav’s conviction after observing that he had made genuine efforts toward settling the dispute with the complainant.

The case arises from a failed film financing deal, which led to significant financial losses for Murli Projects Pvt. Ltd.

The matter is still pending before the Delhi High Court Mediation Centre, where the parties are exploring a possible settlement.
