Delhi HC Dismisses PIL On Consent For Scientific Tests During Investigations

The Delhi High Court has recently dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that seeks directions to the police to inquire about the willingness of complainants to undergo scientific tests such as narco, polygraph, and brain mapping during investigations to substantiate their allegations. The aim is to tackle the issue of “fake cases”.

The bench, comprising Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad was hearing the matter.

During the previous hearing, the court emphasized that it does not have the authority to legislate and stated that the petitioner must establish the merits of their case.
