The Delhi high court on Monday will hear a petition  filed by Former PFI chairman E Abu Backer.

On December 14 the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had filed its status report on the plea of Former PFI chairman E Abu Becker seeking treatment.

The NIA submitted that the agency is not opposing medical treatment to the petitioner. He also said that the probe into the matter is in progress.

The bench had said, “The point is the accused is seriously unwell. Eventually, we will have to consider whether AIIMS has to be directed to constitute a medical board and let this court know which is the best way possible.

The Delhi high court said that it would consider the appeal for medical treatment. For regular bail, the petitioner may approach the trial court.

On November 30, the High court directed the NIA to file a status report on the plea of Abu Backer.
