The Karkardooma Court will hear today the plea of Tahir Hussain, former Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) councilor and the main accused in the North East Delhi violence.
The accused Tahir has sought custodial parole from the Central Jail for treatment in a private hospital. In the last hearing, Additional Sessions Judge Amitabh Rawat of Karkardooma Court had sought a medical report from the jail authorities on the plea of accused Tahir Hussain.
On October 14 last year, the court had framed charges against six accused persons, including Tahir Hussain and his brother Shah Alam, stating that the mob had conspired to “kill and harm Hindus”, resulting in the shootout. One Ajay Jha was injured due to the impact. The judge said, “The facts and evidence of this case show that a large number of people had gathered at Tahir Hussain’s house.
