Delhi Riots: No Relief for Accused Tahir Hussain, High Court Fixes Dece 21 for further hearing

Citing two FIRs, Tahir Hussain’s lawyer Salman Khurshid on Tuesday argued before the high court that both have the same complainant, the same place, and the same weapon.

The Delhi High was hearing a petition filed by Delhi riots accused and former Aam Aadmi Party councilor Tahir Hussain’s seeking bail in the Delhi riots case.

On Tuesday, Tahir Hussain’s lawyer Salman Khurshid appeared before the Delhi high court and said that the charge sheets have been filed in all the cases. Lawyer Salman Khurshid said that the same pattern has been adopted in all the FIRs, the statement recorded in one FIR is exactly the same as in the other FIR.

Tahir Hussain is a resident of that area, he was accused of inciting people, he added

Salman Khurshid further said that Tahir Hussain is having a licensed pistol, when Tahir’s house was searched, out of 100 cartridges dated 2017, 64 were recovered from his house, 22 used cartridges were found and others were missing. There is no allegation of a gun being used by Tahir Hussain, said lawyer Salman Khurshid.

Khurshid said that there is no dispute that Tahir Hussain’s house is in that area, Hussain moved his family to another place and then came back to this house because someone had to be there to guard the house.

The Delhi high court posted December 21 for further hearing.
