Delhi Riots: Delhi High Court Rejected The Petition Of Accused Tahir Hussain

The Delhi High Court (DHC) rejected the petition of accused of Delhi riots Tahir Hussain (Former Aam Aadmi Party Councillor) and said no petition will be heard in the absence of government council.

The single bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma stated that the bench will not be passing any order without hearing the Public Prosecutor.

The application filed via Advocate Tara Narula stating that if the matter will not be heard it will become infructuous.

The Delhi Police alleged the involvement of Tahir Hussain in a greater conspiracy which led to the riots. It’s been alleged that Hussain was involved in rioting, criminal conspiracy & mischief by fire.

The Court has now listed the matter for March 3.

Recently, during the hearing of his bail application, Hussain’s Senior Advocate Salman Khurshid argued that “Delhi Police have just collected whatever they got and copy-pasted it in different FIRs. Everybody is on bail except the petitioner (Tahir Hussain)”.

He further argued that nobody saw Hussain using firearms and the co-accused were already on the bail, and even the man who was alleged of firing was also there in the jail.

It has been stated that there is no specific act which can be attributed to Hussain.
