A Delhi court has recently sent gangster Lawrence Bishnoi to 4-day custody of Delhi Police’s Special Cell in an illegal arms supply case.
Bishnoi was formally arrested in the case on May 26.
Delhi Police sought 4-day custody for interrogating him in an Arms Act case related to the recovery of 25 pistols from an arms trafficker Mukund Singh who allegedly supplied arms and ammunition to Lawrence Bishnoi-Kala Jathedi Gang.
Further, it told the court that, “The sustained interrogation of the accused is to be conducted to identify his gang members to whom the recovered arms and ammunition were to be supplied and to unearth the conspiracy being carried out by this gang to eliminate their rival gang members and other innocent persons.”
Also, police said that the prosecution said that Bishonoi is to be confronted with Singh who is already in police remand in connection with this case. The remand was required to arrest members of the Lawrence Bishnoi-Kala Jathedi gang by conducting raids in Delhi & Punjab and for recovering weapons that had previously been procured by this syndicate from the arrested accused.
Earlier, on April 11, the court issued a production warrant to produce Bishnoi in a case registered by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) under sections related to waging war against the State, conspiracy to wage war against the State, and under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
