Justice Manmohan was officially sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court.
The oath of office was administered by Lieutenant Governor (L-G) VK Saxena during a solemn ceremony held at Raj Niwas.
The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Chief Minister Atishi and Mayor Shelly Oberoi. Judges from the Delhi High Court, senior officials from the Delhi Government and Delhi Police, along with various representatives from the judiciary, were also present, alongside other prominent figures from diverse sectors.
Justice Manmohan ascended to the role of Chief Justice following years of distinguished service as a judge in the Delhi High Court.
It is noteworthy that, according to AAP leaders, this event marked a departure from tradition, as only the Chief Minister was invited, with Cabinet Ministers not receiving invitations to the ceremony.
Justice Manmohan is the son of the late Jagmohan, a renowned bureaucrat-turned-politician who served as the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.
Previously on July 11, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended Justice Manmohan for the position of Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, ahead of his retirement scheduled for December 16.
