Justice Sabina Appointed It’s Acting Chief Justice Of Himachal High Court

A notification issued in this regard stated, “The President is pleased to appoint, smt. Justice Sabina, senior-most Judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, to perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of that High Court, in exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Indian Constitution.”

She was born on April 20, 1961, and was unanimously elected Joint Secretary of the Bar Association of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 1986. She was then appointed as an Additional District Judge on January 21, 1997.

She was appointed as a Sessions Judge in September 2004 and was promoted to Additional Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on March 12, 2008, and Permanent Judge on February 23, 2010. On April 11, 2016, she was transferred to the Rajasthan High Court and sworn in as a Judge of the Rajasthan High Court.

Later, she was moved to the High Court of Himachal Pradesh, where she took her oath on October 8, 2021.

The Ministry of Law and Justice on Friday appointed Justice Sabina as the acting Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, beginning on January 21. She will come into effect after incumbent Chief Justice Amjad Ahtesham Sayed retires.
