Justice Vimal Kumar Yadav
Justice Vimal Kumar Yadav has been sworn in as the newest judge of the Delhi High Court, enhancing the strength of the bench.
The oath was administered by Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya in a ceremony attended by fellow judges, senior advocates, family members, and respected figures from the legal community.
Justice Yadav brings over 30 years of experience from Delhi’s lower judiciary. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Principal District and Sessions Judge at Patiala House Courts, where he handled numerous significant cases, gaining a reputation for judicial diligence.
The recommendation for Justice Yadav’s elevation came from the Supreme Court Collegium on July 28, followed by the central government’s nod on August 8.
According to the official statement, “In exercise of the powers conferred by the Constitution of India, the President of India, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, is pleased to appoint Vimal Kumar Yadav as a Judge of the Delhi High Court.”
Justice Yadav’s appointment is part of a recent wave of new judges joining the Delhi High Court. On July 21, six judges transferred from other courts were sworn in, and just days later, on July 24, three more judges—Justice Shail Jain, Justice Madhu Jain, and Justice Vinod Kumar—were formally inducted by Chief Justice Upadhyaya.
