Minor Rape Case: Suspended Delhi Govt. Official, Wife In Judicial Custody Till Sep 6

Additional Sessions Judge Richa Parihar of Tis Hazari Court on Wednesday sent suspended Delhi government official Premoday Khakha and his wife Seema Rani to judicial custody till September 6.

The Delhi police presented both accused individuals before the court subsequent to a prior one-day judicial custody. The hearing was conducted in a closed courtroom.

Concurrently, the court has requisitioned the report stemming from the medical board’s evaluation concerning Premoday’s vasectomy.

Advocate Uma Shankar Gautam appeared for the husband and wife after the court proceedings involved the media and stated the allegations made against Premoday Khakha are baseless regarding the victim’s pregnancy. He told the court that he underwent the procedure in 2005.

Previously on Tuesday, Khakha who is accused of subjecting his friend’s minor daughter to sexual harassment for a long period, impregnated her.

He stated that the allegations against him are false and accused has also done a vasectomy and all other remaining tests including potency tests that have also been completed by the police within 24 hours of arrest.

Previously, the Delhi Police arrested a government official and his wife in a sexual assault case of a minor. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sagar Singh Khalsi stated that Khakha’s wife threatened the victim and made the minor victim undergo an abortion.

Furthermore, Khakha, who was the Deputy Director of the Women and Child Development Department of the Delhi government, was later suspended.

Delhi Police lodged FIR under rape last week in molestation, criminal intimidation, criminal conspiracy, causing hurt, causing miscarriage without consent, criminal conspiracy, common intention, under the POCSO Act.
