Pending CAG Reports With CM Atishi Matter: Delhi HC To Hear BJP’s Vijendra Gupta’s Plea On Dec 24

CM Atishi

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday will hear a fresh plea filed by Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta seeking directions for Delhi Chief Minister Atishi to expedite the submission of 14 CAG reports to the Assembly Speaker.

The plea alleged that no action has been taken so far over the submission of these reports to the assembly.

It claims that 12 CAG reports related to excise duty, pollution, and finance from financial year 2017 to 2022 remain pending with CM Atishi.

The petition, filed by advocates Neeraj and Satya Ranjan Swain, further states that BJP MLAs had earlier approached the CM, Chief Secretary, and Speaker on this issue, but no action was taken.

The HC had earlier disposed of a similar petition after the Delhi government submitted its response.

During the last hearing, the Lieutenant Governor office (LG) informed the court that the CAG reports related to excise duty, pollution, and finance had been approved, and a special session of the assembly had been recommended.

In an affidavit filed by the LG office, states that the Finance Minister (Delhi CM) caused unwarranted delays.
