Pune Porsche Crash

More than a dozen teams, each comprising 100 personnel, have been assembled by the police to delve into various aspects of the extensive investigation into the Porsche car crash case allegedly involving a minor driver, an official disclosed.

Three Cases Unfold

Three separate cases have been registered by the police following the incident where the car purportedly driven by a minor boy fatally collided with two IT professionals riding a motorbike in Maharashtra’s Pune city’s Kalyani Nagar area on May 19.

The trio of cases encompasses an FIR related to the accident, a second against the bar accused of serving liquor to the juvenile, and the third targeting the boy’s father, a builder, for permitting him to drive the car sans a valid license. The third case pertains to the wrongful confinement and coercion of the family driver to shoulder the blame for the accident.

Among the family members of the boy, the police have thus far apprehended his father, grandfather, and mother, subsequent to confirmation that his blood samples had been substituted with hers, disclosed Pune police chief Amitesh Kumar on Saturday. Additionally, two doctors from the state-run Sassoon General Hospital and an employee have been taken into custody for purportedly swapping the blood sample of the minor boy, as per PTI reports.

Provisions of the Indian Penal Code, Juvenile Justice Act, Motor Vehicles Act, and the Prevention of Corruption Act have been invoked against the accused in connection with the cases registered regarding the incident.

Specialized Task Forces

“To ensure a professional and effective probe, we have deployed multiple teams. Approximately 100 police personnel, including officers, are overseeing different facets of the case,” remarked Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shailesh Balkawade.

Three teams, each comprising 8 to 10 personnel, have been established for investigating the three registered cases, while two teams have been tasked with documentation to fortify the cases.

Furthermore, a team has been designated for CCTV footage monitoring, three teams for technical analysis, and an equal number for field operations. One team each has been allocated for escorting the accused and for communication purposes.
