Former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and former BJP MP, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, has moved the Delhi High Court seeking to quash the FIR and charges against him in a sexual harassment case brought by six women wrestlers.
The petition is scheduled for hearing today before Justice Neena Bansal Krishna.
Singh argues that the investigation was biased, asserting that only the victims’ version was considered, leading to a charge sheet filed in the trial court without addressing the alleged falsehoods in the accusations. He maintains that he has been falsely implicated and denies committing any of the offences as claimed by the prosecution.
On May 21, the trial court framed charges against Singh, including sexual harassment, intimidation, and outraging the modesty of women. Additionally, co-accused and former WFI assistant secretary Vinod Tomar faces charges of criminal intimidation in the case.
The Delhi Police registered an FIR against Singh following the intervention of the Supreme Court in May 2023.
