The Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court has denied the bail application and request for suspension of prison sentence filed by Nishant Agrawal, a former engineer at BrahMos Aerospace, who was convicted in an espionage case.

The bench, comprising Justices Vinay Joshi and Vrushali Joshi, issued the order after hearing final arguments on Wednesday, according to assistant government pleader Anup Badar, who represented the government.

Nishant Agrawal was sentenced to life imprisonment on June 3 by a sessions court in Nagpur. He was arrested in 2018 on charges of spying for the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and was found guilty under the Information Technology Act and the Official Secrets Act of 1923.
