Central Govt Appoints Four AJs as Permanent Judges of Kerala HC

The Central Government on Saturday issued a notification wherein it designated Justices Basant Balaji, Chandrasekharan Kartha Jayachandran, Sophy Thomas, and Puthen Veedu Gopala Pillai Ajithkumar as permanent Judges of the Kerala High Court.

The Union Minister for Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal made the announcement through a tweet.

On March 17, 2023, the Kerala High Court Collegium put forth a unanimous recommendation for the permanent appointment of these Judges.

Both the Chief Minister and the Governor of the State of Kerala had also expressed their agreement with this recommendation.

Following that, the Supreme Court Collegium also endorsed the candidature of these four judges to be appointed as permanent Judges of the High Court.
