Central Govt Appoints Two AJs as Permanent Judges of Bombay HC

Bombay HC

The Central Government has issued a notification appointing Justice Anil Pansare and Justice Sandipkumar More as Permanent Judges of the Bombay High Court.

The Union Minister for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal made the announcement through a tweet.

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court Collegium comprising CJI DY Chandrachud and Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul & Sanjiv Khanna had recommended both the Justices name.

On April 12, 2023, the Bombay High Court Collegium unanimously recommended both Additional Judges for permanent appointment.

The Chief Ministers and Governors of Maharashtra and Goa also concurred with this recommendation.

As per the Collegium’s Memorandum of Procedure, Supreme Court Judges familiar with the functioning of the Bombay High Court were consulted to assess the suitability of the nominated Judges. After evaluating the material on record, the Collegium concluded that both Justice Pansare and Justice More are fit and suitable for appointment as Permanent Judges of the Bombay High Court, filling the existing vacancies.
