Centre Appoints Justice Shree Chandrashekhar as Jharkhand HC Acting Chief Justice

Justice Shree Chandrashekhar has been appointed as the acting chief justice of the Jharkhand High Court as the current Chief Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra steps down upon reaching the age of 62 years.

As per a notification from the law ministry, Justice Chandrashekhar, who currently serves as a judge of the Jharkhand High Court, will assume the role of acting chief justice on December 29, succeeding Justice Mishra following his retirement on December 28, 2023.

While judges of the Supreme Court retire at the age of 65, high court judges conclude their term upon reaching the age of 62.
