Centre Notifies Appointment of Additional AG Bishwadeep Bhattacharjee as Judge of Meghalaya HC

The Central government on Tuesday notified the appointment of Additional Advocate General (AAG), Biswadeep Bhattacharjee as a judge of the Meghalaya High Court.

The Union Minister for Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal made the announcement through a tweet.

It was on July 12,2023 that the Supreme Court Collegium recommended the appointment of AAG Biswadeep Bhattarcharjee.

It is to be noted that Mr Bhattarcharjee has been serving as Additional Advocate General in Meghalaya since 2018.

The Supreme Court Collegium also mentioned that nothing adverse was found in respect to his personal integrity.

With this appointment, the Meghalaya High Court will now have a full strength of four judges.
