Centre Notifies Elevation of 2 Advocates as Additional Judges Of Chhattisgarh HC

The Central Government has notified the appointment of two advocates as Additional Judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court.

The appointees are: Bibhu Datta Guru and Amitendra Kishore Prasad

A notification issued regarding their appointment states:

“In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 24 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri (i) Bibhu Datta Guru and (ii) Amitendra Kishore Prasad, to be Additional Judges of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, in that order of seniority, for a period of two years with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.”

In July, the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended their appointment as Additional Judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court.
