The Chhattisgarh High Court on Wednesday started the live-streaming of its proceedings on YouTube.
The court is currently live-streaming today’s proceedings from court rooms 1, 3, and 5.
With this move, the Chhattisgarh High Court has become part of the expanding group of High Courts that are live-streaming their proceedings.
The Gujarat High Court led the way by introducing live-streaming of court proceedings on its YouTube channel in October 2020.
Following this precedent, several other High Courts, including those in Kerala, Karnataka, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Patna, Jharkhand, and Calcutta, have also opted for similar measures. These decisions were taken to enhance transparency and provide increased access to court hearings.
Additionally, the Supreme Court has also initiated limited live-streaming, making Constitution Bench hearings accessible to the public on YouTube.
