The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday dismissed the anticipatory bail petitions of former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in three corruption cases.
Advocate Krishna Murthy stated, “Andhra Pradesh High Court has dismissed the bail petitions of TDP (Telugu Desam Party) chief and former CM Chandrababu Naidu in the Inner Ring Road, Fiber Net, and Angallu 307 cases.”
Previously, the Vijayawada Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court had deferred its decision on the bail request of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The ACB court had extended the remand of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chief in the alleged multi-crore skill development scam case until October 19.
On October 3rd, the Supreme Court deferred the hearing of Chandrababu Naidu’s plea challenging the Andhra Pradesh High Court’s order that rejected his petition to quash an FIR linked to the same Skill Development Corporation scam case. The hearing is scheduled for today.
The arrest of the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP leader by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) last month in connection with the alleged multi-crore skill development scam case had caused political unrest in the state. Several TDP leaders had alleged that Naidu’s arrest was politically motivated and based on false accusations.
Meanwhile, N Sanjay, the Chief of the Andhra Pradesh CID asserted that Chandrababu Naidu was the primary conspirator in the AP Skill Development scam. He added that Naidu, in his capacity as Chief Minister, had masterminded the corruption during his tenure.
Furthermore, on Saturday, Nara Bhuvaneswari, the wife of Chandrababu Naidu, along with various Telugu Desam Party leaders, staged a protest against the arrest of the TDP leader. They symbolically switched off the lights at the party’s temporary camp office and lit earthen lamps as a form of protest.
