The Pune District Session Court on Friday acquitted the Hindu Rashtra Sena‘s chief Dhananjay Desai and 20 others regarding the case of rioting and murdering an IT professional in 2014.
Meanwhile awaiting the case’s detained order, the Additional Sessions Judge SB Salunkhe simply read out the relevant portions of his order.
The Judge stated that the prosecution wasn’t able to demonstrate the case story behind a reasonable doubt. on June 3, 2014, Shaikh Mobin Mohammad Sadiq registered the case at the Hadapsar police station.
As per the FIR, Mobin’s deceased elder brother Shaikh Mohsin Mohammad Sadiq and his friend Riyaz Mubaraq Shendure are the Hadapsar’s residents.
Mohsin use to work as the IT Manager at Ujwal Enterprises, and while on vacation, the three of them would visit a nearby mosque for prayers.
When Mobin returned from namaz on June 2, 2014, at 9.15 p.m., Mohsin and Riyaz went to a mess and carried a tiffin on their way home, when seven to eight motorcycles allegedly passed them.
Hockey sticks, bats and stones were carried allegedly by the motorcyclists in their hands.
Mohsin was allegedly attacked by motorcyclists as he was wearing a green outfit.
Later, the cops registered a case under sections 120(B) (conspiracy), 153(A) (Promoting enmity), 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 143 (unlawful assembly), 147 (rioting), 148 (armed), 149 (common object) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
