Justice Lalitha Kanneganti Sworn In As K’taka HC Judge

Justice Lalitha Kanneganti on Friday sworn in as the Judge of the Karnataka High Court after her transfer from the High Court of Telangana.

Chief Justice Prasanna B Varale administered the oath of office.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, Vishalaraghu H L, Chairman of the Karnataka State Bar Council, delivered a welcome address.

In response, Justice Kanneganti expressed her appreciation for the State of Karnataka, which she described as a perfect blend of globalization and traditional values. She highlighted the state’s rich diversity in culture, heritage, and nature and praised the historical participation of women in social and political movements, including the freedom movement.

Justice Lalitha Kanneganti also acknowledged the presence of Hon’ble Justice B V Nagarathna, Judge of the Supreme Court of India, who is set to become the first woman Chief Justice of India, and expressed her pleasure at being part of such a prestigious institution.

She emphasized that the consumers of justice seek unpolluted, expeditious, and inexpensive justice and expressed confidence in effectively discharging her duties with the assistance of the bar.

Justice Kanneganti began her legal career in 1994 and practiced in various areas of law. She served as the Standing Counsel for several organizations, including Agriculture Market Committees, English & Foreign Languages University, Endowments, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, Sri Venkateswara Vedic University, Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), and Sanskrit University, Tirupati.

She assumed her role as a permanent Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on May 2, 2020, and later transferred to the Telangana High Court on November 15, 2021.
