In a potential first for the nation, the Kerala High Court is preparing to introduce a machine/automated scrutiny system for bail applications prior to their listing for hearings.
The automated scrutiny will assess for any defects or issues before the plea is scheduled for a court hearing.
The new automated system will commence operations on Monday, July 10. From July 10 until August 1, the e-filing module will offer the option to choose either “auto scrutiny” or “scrutiny by filing scrutiny officer” for bail applications.
Following further evaluation of the module, machine scrutiny will become mandatory for all bail applications starting from 1st August, 2023.
