Madhya Pradesh HC Issues Notice to Kareena Kapoor for Using ‘Bible’ in Pregnancy Book

Kareena Kapoor Pregnancy Book

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has issued a notice to Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor regarding a petition seeking the removal of the word “Bible” from the title of her book, “‘Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible: The Ultimate Manual for Moms-To-Be”, citing it as offensive to the Christian community.

A single bench of Justice GS Ahluwalia issued the notice in response to a petition filed by advocate Christopher Anthony.

Notice Issued

Additionally, the court issued notices to co-author Aditi Shah Bhimjyani, Amazon Online Shopping, publisher Juggernaut Books, the state government, the superintendent of police Jabalpur, and the in-charge of Omit police station.

Pregnancy Book

The book, “Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible: The Ultimate Manual for Moms-To-Be”, was released in August 2021. Anthony stated that he lodged the petition in the high court challenging a decision of a lower court dated February 26, 2022, which rejected his plea to prohibit the book and remove the word “Bible” from its title. He explained that the lower court dismissed the petition due to the police’s failure to submit an inquiry report concerning the complaint filed at Omti police station, aiming to initiate a criminal case against the actor and others for allegedly offending the sentiments of the Christian community.
