Cricketer Yash Dayal
The Allahabad High Court has granted interim relief to cricketer Yash Dayal by staying his arrest in a sexual exploitation case filed by a woman from Ghaziabad.
The woman accused Dayal of maintaining a physical relationship for 5 years under false promises of marriage and subjecting her to emotional and physical abuse.
The complaint was filed on June 21 via the Chief Minister’s grievance portal, leading to an FIR on July 6 under Section 69 of the BNS at Indirapuram Police Station.
The woman alleged that Dayal misled her with assurances of marriage, introduced her to his family as a wife, and later subjected her to violence when she protested.
In his plea, Dayal denied any relationship based on marriage promises, though he admitted his family treated the woman like a daughter-in-law. He claimed the woman’s attitude changed over time, which led him to reconsider the marriage. Dayal maintained that their relationship was a mutual friendship without any commitment.
The court has now stayed his arrest pending further proceedings.
